Back to riding today. I left a Penticton around 8 am and headed south and east. I went through the “O” towns, Okanagan Falls, Oliver, Osoyoos, Oroville, Tenasket and Omak....wait a minute what is Tenasket doing in there? At Omak I took WA 155, a beauriful road with twisty’s and Elevation changes and it led to the Grand Coulee dam. The Dam was started in 1933 and completed in 1950. It is a over a mile wide, amazing.
After seeing the dam I headed on towards Spokane and then Idaho. Right before Coure d’Alene it started to rain and rain it did for 175 miles....my luck finally ran out. It rained into a Montana and through the Bitterroot Mountains and I missed the welcome sign...I’ll have to get it later. I saw two black bears in the river and the scenery, though wet, was breathtaking.
I rode 365 miles today’s i am closing in on 6000. I should hit that milestone tomorrow. There is more rain in the forecast so I will need to button up.
I am glad to be finally headed in the direction of home.....this has been a wonderful trip with more to come but After 43 days.......
